New Music from Artichoke – Bees

Posted on Oct 21, 2010

A man A plan A canal is happy to present you with the latest from Artichoke. The album is entitled, Bees, and you will find the name fitting after listening to the album.

Bees is a colorful collection of indie pop tracks. Amidst the playful guitars and quirky lyrics, one may discover a theremin alongside a resilient accordion on some of the tracks. “Artichoke make music for kids and drunks. Poppy melodies and seemingly innocent lyrics about bees and scientists and your neighborhood (Highland Park in their case), but which take on a darker subtext the older and more jaded you get” says the LA Weekly. You can read the entire article, including an interview with frontman Tim Sellers, here!

There are 13 songs on the album, all FCC clean except for track 8.

RIYL: Apples in Stereo, Of Montreal, Jonathan Richman
