Papercuts Going for Adds

Artist / producer Jason Quever‘s Papercuts is releasing his 5th record, Life Among the Savages, in May. Pitchfork premiered the album’s lead single last Wednesday, claiming, “Still Knocking at the Door” is one of Papercuts‘ “most rock-solid singles yet.” Check out the full feature here. The album is said to be “an eclectic, fun yet undeniably melancholy trip full of songs about city life, alienation, playing in bands, and smoking banana peels.” The title track even contains an arrangement contribution by Alex Scally of Beach House. Papercuts is one of several artists (the Donkeys, Rodrigo Amarante, Isobel Campbell) who will be on the new Easy Sound Recording Company, which we announced last week. “Still Knocking at the Door” has echoes of baroque in the piano’s chord progression and dream pop in the mood, the sound though, is undeniably Quever’s.
