At Triple-A Radio: Withered Hand – KUTX Song of the Day – Album Review

Withered Hand‘s highly anticipated second album, New Gods, is well worth the 4-year wait, says KUTX, who recently featured “Black Tambourine” as their song of the day. KUTX says, “New Gods reassembles the ideas (and the title) first expressed on Good News and gives them a smart folk-pop sheen.” In the featured track, Dan Wilson sings over jangly guitars and a steady beat as he contemplates the complexity of time, questioning whether or not people change with age. Check out the feature here.

The Quietus “thanks heaven” for Withered Hand‘s second album, saying  “it is enlightening, wry and devastating, but most of all, it’s life-affirming – a kick up the arse for the maudlin among us; a reminder that the brightness of the right (or wrong) smile is all we need.” Read the full review here. Withered Hand is seeing spins at KEXP and has been added at Iowa Public Radio, KALX, KGLT, & KPFA – get it started at your station this week!
