Arc Iris – Rave Album Review

Arc Iris, the solo venture by multi-instrumentalist / composer / singer Jocie Adams, takes listeners on a journey through America’s musical history. Her web of arrangements reference jazz, 19th century classical, ’70s pop, and contemporaries Dirty Projectors – yet, still manage to sound cohesive and seamless. As The Line of Best Fit put it: “Her sonic palette is a wonderful paradox of deep and complex layers rendered completely accessible and comfortable due to the absolute familiarity and organics of the instrumentation. The review went on to give the record a 9/10, calling Arc Iris “traditional music thrillingly positioned at the nexus of the old and new.” Read the full review here and support the record this week at CMJ!
