Rodrigo Amarante has just released his American debut, Cavalo. The songwriter / poet / artist has been writing music for over 15 years; from his first group, Brazilian Los Hermanos, to his time with LA-based Little Joy (featuring Binki Shapiro & Fabrizio Moretti of The Strokes). Cavalo though, is the first time we catch a glimpse at the artist solely on his own, lonesome and forever in transit. La Blogotheque‘s A Takeaway Show recorded Amarante while on tour in Europe & perfectly captured this transient quality that permeates through his work. The video shows Amarante wandering the streets of Paris, guitar in hand, singing “Irene” to indifferent pedestrians – it’s a stirring performance. Watch it below. Cavalo is looking to get started at Radio 200, showcase it on your playlist.
