New Music From EDJ (ex-Fruit Bats) – Digital Servicing Only

Eric D. Johnson of the Fruit Bats is back with a solo project, EDJ, whose self-titled debut will be released later this summer on Easy Sound Recording Company. Unlike the music of the Fruit Bats, Johnson‘s solo project deviates from happy songs and major chords, striving for a more emotionally ambiguous sound.

With the help of various collaborators, such as Andy Cabic of Vetiver, James Mercer of The Shins and Tim Rutili from Califone, Eric Johnson has produced a collection of what he calls “melancholy grooves and existential make-out songs.” A.V. Club is currently steaming a sneak peak at one of the tracks from EDJ‘s solo album, “Lost It All, All The Time.” Listen to the song here!
