New Music from Blake Mills – Digital Servicing Only

Blake Mills is getting ready to release his newest solo album, Heigh Ho, in September. After his previous band Simon Dawes disbanded, and two members went on to form Dawes, Mills began touring as a guitarist for Jenny Lewis while collaborating as a session musician with artists such as Conor Oberst, The Avett Brothers, Weezer, and Haim.

In preparation for the release of his upcoming solo album, Blake Mills has offered a 2 song sampler to tide us over until September. The first track, “If I’m Unworthy,” is a very subtle, easy listen, but perfectly showcases Mills‘ incredible talents with a guitar. The ripping solo is a great contrast to what is otherwise a generally mellow song. Also included on the sampler is the album’s lead single, “Don’t Tell Our Friends About Me.” The track, which recently premiered on Pitchfork, features Fiona Apple and Jon Brion, and proves Mills’ innate talent as both a singer-songwriter and a guitarist. Be sure to check out Blake Mills and give these tracks some big support!

“Though Eric Clapton recently called Blake Mills a ‘phenomenal’ guitarist, Mills’ new song ‘If I’m Unworthy’ says more about his songwriting chops his than six-string prowess.” –Wall Street Journal
