The Barr Brothers Going for Adds

The Barr BrothersĀ are going for adds this week! “Half Crazy,” the single from their upcoming albumĀ Sleeping Operator, has already received premieres from Paste Magazine and WXPN.

The Montreal quartet, made up of Barr brothers Andrew and Brad Barr, Sarah Page, and Andrew Vial, has long pushed the envelope, extending genres to create a relentlessly powerful and fresh sound. The single from their upcoming release certainly is no exception. A raw, off-kilter blues jam, “Half Crazy” embodies the immense creative energy of The Barr Brothers.

Brad Barr says of the track, “This song, ‘Half Crazy,’ could be described as the tenacious offspring of the North African desert music of Mali/Morocco and the sweat and electricity of the Chicago and Mississippi Delta blues. That music is like a stem cell, really open to going in many directions.”

The Barr Brothers second album, Sleeping Operator, is slated for release this fall.

“A stone cold groove with a menacing edge, The Barr Brothers add the plummeting temperatures of Montreal to the Americana stew.”
