Blake Mills Speaks to LA Times – Debuts at CMJ

The LA Times recently featured Blake Mills discussing his latest release of his album Heigh Ho (Verve). The majority of the recording for the album took place in the intimate cabin of Mills‘ car giving it “that hushed, close-up quality — rather than the grandstanding associated with many guitar gods — that defines Heigh Ho.” The feature then discusses his ambitious leap to being a frontrunner after having played alongside indie mainstays such as Jenny Lewis & Julian Casablancas. Blake Mills debuted at CMJ, landing at #163! There is still plenty of room for this one to grow. Before leaving for tour, Mills was producing the forthcoming Alabama Shakes album in Nashville!
