Consequnce of Sound Praises The Barr Brothers – Perform on WXPN’s / NPR’s World Cafe

Earlier this month, after a three-year gap, The Barr Brother‘s finally satisfied hungry fans with Sleeping Operator. Expectations were high – and they more than reached.

Consequence of Sound is one of many members of the music community delivering praise to the Montreal natives, noting, “The meticulous placement and production make each track feel carefully controlled, though not to the point of suffocating any spontaneity.” The review also expresses appreciation for the album’s unique mix of instruments including a variety of horns, marimba, ngoni (West African stringed instrument), hammered dulcimer, and pedal steel. Despite this bizarre blend, “The Barr Brother’s never let you get lost in the chaos”. Read the rest of the review here.

The Bar Brother’s visited the WXPN studios in Philadelphia to perform on NPR‘s “World Cafe”, take a listen here. The group made it to an all-time new peak, hitting #53 before the charts went dark for CMJ Music Marathon. Help them reach a new high this week!
