The new album from Buenos Aires/Los Angeles’ Bonson Berner is out next week! Bonson Berner mixes the modern sounds of South America with a fresh electro-tinged take on classic new wave. Once an architect, mastermind Lisandro “Pato” Aloi has had a long and intense relationship with art and music. From his part in avant-garde Argentine rock band Siga la Flecha (“Follow the Arrow”) to photography, to poetic lyricism; Aloi has followed his art all over the world. The stories of wanderlust and tales of places once traveled work as inspiration for the explosive electronic post-punk revival of Bonson Berner.
Bonson Berner’s sophomore album Reflection displays Aloi’s intimate, brooding and passionate nature, making it his most personal album to date. The reverberating title track and the album’s first single “Traveling,” echo a fresh direction while “Esta Noche en el Bar” is a sultry stroll on the wild side with a euphoric sheen. Riding creativity and emotion, the prolific band has quickly captured and nuanced their idiosyncratic sound. This is a project that is primal and scientific, melancholic and eager, global and enigmatic, pure yet fused.
