New Music From Built to Spill – Digital Servicing Only

Thanks to all the stations that have been spinning the haunting first single “Living Zoo” from the ever endearing and enduring, Built to Spill. We are now excited to share the latest single, “Never Be The Same”! The airy tune is the fifth track off the band’s upcoming eighth studio album Untethered Moon. Doted by Stereogum as, “a lovely and melodic jangle which barely takes longer than three minutes of your day but which seems to take its time anyway”, “Never Be The Same” is everything that fans love about Built to Spill.

Hailing from Boise, Idaho, Built to Spill has inspired countless bands from Modest Mouse to The Strokes. Produced by frontman Doug Martsch and Sam Coomes (Quasi, Sleater-Kinney, Elliott Smith, Heatmiser), Untethered Moon, the band’s first album since 2009, makes for the perfect addition to Built to Spill’s discography of intelligent, melodic, and lyrically thoughtful records. The vinyl edition of Untethered Moon will be released on April 18th exclusively for Record Store Day with CD and digital versions released the following week.

Consequence of Sound calls “Never Be The Same”, “a second rustic slice off the band’s first album in six years.” It’s a happy tune with a nostalgic aftertaste that’s calm and confident and unapologetically Built to Spill.
