New Music from DTCV

Vivarock and Fiat Lux‘s DTCV is releasing their newest album, UPTIME! Now in their 3rd year, DTCV have released 2 studio albums (on Burger & Xemu, respectively) and a compilation of EPs / singles. DTCV are following up that comp with a brand new studio album, UPTIME! DTCV have been compared to Stereolab, Sonic Youth, Mission of Burma, and “post-Nico Velvet Underground with Debbie Harry on vocals” by possibly not-entirely-sober music writers. Lead single “Miley Cyrus Wins the Race” couples hush vocals with layers of guitars and a sense of longing only found on songs by ‘60s girl groups.

“…shoegaze girl-group pop a la Vivian and/or Dum Dum Girls with dashes of both Françoise Hardy and Pat Benatar.”
Stereogum

DTCV…make the kind of post-VU guitar pop that never really goes out of style.”
