DTCV Going for Adds
After several singles and two previous albums, on Burger and Xemu records respectively, DCTV (pronounced ‘detective’) has a brand new studio album, entitled UPTIME! available now on Unsatisfied Records. Formed in 2012, the French-American post-punk band combines alluring girl group melodies with layers of shoegazy guitars and sonic elements influenced by the likes of the Velvet Underground and Sonic Youth. Members Fiat Lux & Vivarock prefer not to reveal their profligate involvement with other, better-known rock combos, or with writing films, novels, and Broadway musicals, or with acquiring post-graduate degrees in international politics from the Sorbonne.
“…shoegaze girl-group pop a la Vivian and/or Dum Dum Girls with dashes of both Françoise Hardy and Pat Benatar.”
– Stereogum
“A slow-burning dazzle, take it all in and let each song grow on you like a garden of barnacles; a few rounds spinning this record and best of luck to you getting those suckers off.”
– Lo Pie
