PopMatters Debuts Jeremy and the Harlequins’ “You’re My Halo” Video; Jeremy Fury Talks to Underground Garage – Going for Debuts

“It’s the underbelly of classic, feel good Americana,” says Jeremy and the Harlequins singer Jeremy Fury about the band’s new video for the song “You’re My Halo,” “as if ‘50s nostalgia skipped the drive in and plunged head first into the Dungeon.” In its premiere of the video, PopMatters notes the band’s musical and visual nods to the 1950s but says that, “With the music video to ‘You’re My Halo,’ the New York City rockers… take those idyllic archetypes of American life and give them a devilish twist—one might call it ‘Mephistopheles noir.'” Check out the dark, visceral clip for one of American Dreamer‘s strongest tracks below, and read the PopMatters feature here.

Fury recently shared the band’s motivations with the Mighty Manfred of Sirius XM’s Underground Garage after that station selected American Dreamer‘s leadoff track “Trip Into the Light” as the Coolest Song in the World This Week. “Rock n’ Roll got kind of bloated,” Fury told the host, “so we wanted to strip everything down to the essence.” In a 14-minute long interview that has now been posted to SoundCloud, the two discuss the band’s history, its recent tour of England, and the fast and furious recording sessions that created American Dreamer.
