Alpine is Reviewed by Bearded Gentlemen, Interviewed by All I’ve Heard

“This six-piece from Australia was on to something good with their previous A is for Alpine,” writes Bearded Gentlemen Music about Alpine, “but Yuck puts the story ahead of the pop – and doesn’t sacrifice any musical element for it.” In the rest of her detailed review, Kelsey Simpkins explains that the band’s new album pushes pop’s boundaries in terms of lyrical content and execution by honestly handling topics “that would normally be portrayed through a moody indie rock album.” Yet Yuck is bright, not moody, and Simpkins says it’s “so good, it’s disgusting.” Read more here.

All I’ve Heard also has an interview with Alpine, selected by the site as “This Week’s Muse” last week. In it, the band speaks about the inspiration behind new single “Damn Baby” as well as the tropicalia influence that can be heard in several places on Yuck. Get the whole thing, along with an embedded stream of “Foolish,” here.
