Alpine is Reviewed by Paste, Featured on WBUR – Going for New CMJ Peak

The accolades keep coming in for Yuck, the second release from Australian six-piece Alpine. Paste Magazine has some good things to say in its review, here. According to Paste, Yuck “sees the band exploring new pop territories” not explored on 2012’s A is for Alpine, which it describes as “nothing short of brilliant.” Producer/guitarist Christian O’Brien gets credit for his “shining” production, saying that “Shot Fox” sounds like “an addicting videogame soundtrack” while “Foolish” “accomplishes exactly what good pop songwriting should: sheer repeatability and a feeling of delight on every listen.”

Alpine was a key part of a recent discussion on WBUR’s Here & Now with guest Aaron Byrd of KCRW. Byrd discusses several of his favorite artists of right now, sharing Alpine’s song “Damn Baby” with listeners. When asked what he likes about the track, Byrd offers, “What isn’t there to like about it? It’s funky, it’s [got] just a really infectious groove, [and] it makes you feel good.” Go here to check out the discussion; Alpine is at 7:30 if you want to skip ahead to them.

Alpine made it to #42 on the CMJ Radio 200 chart. They’re looking for a new peak on the chart tomorrow, help them climb this week!
