Iowa Public Radio and the Spectrum Review the Bird and the Bee

The Bird and the Bee‘s Recreational Love continues to be a force at college, noncommercial, Triple A, and alternative specialty radio. Though released in July, the album continues to find its way onto playlists at stations around the country. The record has been climbing up the charts at Iowa Public Radio, where it was picked as last week’s Featured Release. Check out the feature, and watch the video for album track “Los Angeles,” here.

Recreational Love was recently reviewed by the Spectrum, which notes that the duo was “combining dance beats and indie-rock grooves before it was trendy.” However, the band hasn’t become tired or stale now that the rest of the indie universe is cribbing its style. According to the review, “Singer Inara George and multi-instrumentalist Greg Kurstin have an almost-magical collaborative relationship where they expertly accent each other’s work.” Read it here.
