Young Empires Tours and Looks for Debuts, Gets Praise from Flood and Confront

Flood Magazine recently premiered Young Empires‘ new album, the Gates, which is still streaming in full on the site. The feature notes that Young Empires’ debut EP, 2012’s Wake All My Youth, “garnered the band comparisons to everyone from Battles and Yeasayer to Arcade Fire and Foals.” But the Gates, Flood says, adds “a professional sheen, giving the group’s airy pop an authoritative stomp.” Check out the feature here.

The album has been getting great reviews, including from Confront Magazine. According to Confront, the Gates is a “dangerous mixture of explosive, reach-for-the-sky choruses and eminently danceable beat-making.” The review, here, compliments the band for its ability to craft astounding choruses and to get audiences dancing to songs with lyrics about regret and other dark subject matter.

Help give Young Empires a fast start at Radio 200 this week! The band is currently on tour, with the following upcoming dates:

09/15 – Analog Theater – Portland, OR
09/16 – The Tractor Tavern – Seattle, WA
09/17 – Fortune Sound Club – Vancouver, BC
09/26 – Midpoint Music Festival – Cincinnati, OH
09/27 – The Empty Bottle – Chicago, IL
