Lithuania Stream Album on Brooklyn Vegan, Gets Reviewed by New Noise, Shoots for New CMJ Peak

Lithuania is another band of Eric Slick of Dr. Dog, but they’re nothing like that band,” writes Brooklyn Vegan of the project, which recently premiered the debut LP Hardcore Friends. Perhaps that’s a bit extreme, though. While the site is correct that they make “the kind of crunchy, fuzzy rock that’s closer to Weezer or indie rock’s recent flirtations with pop punk and emo,” the truth is that Slick and his collaborator Dominic Angelella (DRGN KING) have a penchant for catchy melodies that is certainly shared with their primary projects. Check out the countless examples with Brooklyn Vegan’s stream of the album, featuring guest vocals from Hop Along singer Frances Quinlan and Field Mouse singer Rachel Browne, here.

Hardcore Friends was recently reviewed by New Noise Magazine, which says that Slick’s vocals “hold a special flare that stands out beyond other modern punk and hardcore vocalists.” The rest of the review is similarly positive, highlighting track “2009” as the album’s best and calling the whole thing “a great listen.” Read it here.

Lithuania continues their US tour with Beach Slang this week. Highlight Hardcore Friends to your DJs to help give it a new CMJ peak on the Radio 200 chart!
