Futurebirds‘ newest album is called Hotel Parties, and that title captures the essence of an LP that is a testimony of life on the rock n roll road. But while being in a touring band is often portrayed in popular culture as a mix of glamor and debauchery, the lyrical themes on Hotel Parties portray things differently. Now, the band has a video for the record’s title track that visually explores the concepts behind Hotel Parties. In the clip, which debuted on Baeble Music, “a musician enters a hotel room alone and unpacks for a party, but his only friends are the characters on the TV he watches, and they step out of the television to join him for an evening of (empty) debauchery.” Read about it here, watch it below.
The band was also recently featured on KEXP‘s “Music That Matters” podcast, which selected their song “Deadbeat Hits.” Music that Matters is a weekly podcast designed to showcase the music that is popular with the KEXP DJs themselves, so this is a high honor!
