The Cave Singers are Featured on 107.7 the End and KEXP, Seek Top 40 at CMJ Radio 200

The Cave Singers‘ new LP Banshee debuted at #55 on the CMJ Radio 200 last week, giving it a strong start and making it the highest-charting self-released album in issue 1430. As they aim for the Top 40 this week, local support in their hometown of Seattle has started to swell. Seattle’s 107.7 The End has chosen the band as its Locals Only “Artist of the Month” for March, guaranteeing daily airplay and hosting a fantastic feature on its website. Check out that feature, here, to learn about the album and its recording process.

The band was also honored with a “Song of the Day” at another local radio institution, KEXP, on February 26. About the song “That’s Why,” which opens Banshee, KEXP wrote “[it’s] both precise and languid, never sounding anything short of intentional effortlessness. [Singer Pete] Quirk sashays through a rolling bassline like he’s known it for years, tossing off lyrics in his trademark reedy croon left and right. Make no mistake: there’s a swagger in ‘That’s Why’ that The Cave Singers haven’t really tapped into until this point, and although it’s a surprising turn for them to move away from their acoustic-carried tunes, it’s a gamble that pays off with a fantastic result.” Read the whole thing, download the tune, and watch its video here.
