Star Wars Headspace Finds Fans At The Diamondback and Laughing Place

By now, you have likely heard the greatness contained within Star Wars Headspace, the Rick Rubin-produced electronic compilation album featuring such artists as Flying Lotus, GTA, and Baauer on tracks that melt the sounds of the Star Wars galaxy into fresh new bangers. It’s hard to lose attention while listening to the collection, as sound bits and samples from the most epic space saga are jam-packed into driving dance productions from some of the world’s top producers.

Reviewer Cameron Neimand of The Diamondback said of GTA’s track “Help Me!,” “The nearly four-minute trap anthem is fueled by audio of Princess Leia’s plea for Obi-Wan Kenobi’s help, for yes indeed, he is her only hope, and you’ll be sure to bang your head violently back and forth in the name of the Force.” Read the full review here.

Laughing Place also has a review of the record, stating that, “if ever there was a universe that could embrace EDM, it would be Star Wars. EDM and science fiction blend together nicely and Headspace is a great way to experience both.” The review goes on to single out tracks by Claude VonStrokeRöyksopp, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
