Paste Magazine Praises All The Real Girls

Paste Magazine is in love with Elk City, the powerful debut LP from All The Real Girls. Comparing the band’s leader Peter Donovan to heavyweights like Conor Oberst and Elliot Smith, the site’s recent review of the record praises the collection for its storytelling richness, its “specific and descriptive” writing, and the “expertly crafted” guitar playing that anchors the album from start to finish. The album, which features an all-star cast of players from bands like Death Cab For Cutie, Built to Spill, and The Long Winters, was inspired by stories told to Donovan during a chance encounter with an old woman at a desert bar. According to Paste, “by the end [of the record] you feel like you were sitting there at the bar listening to the stories.” Read the review right here.
