The AV Club Premieres KAYE’s Weezer-inspired Video For “Honey”

The AV Club has KAYE‘s debut video, a recreation of the video Weezer made to promote Weezer (The Blue Album) standout “Undone – The Sweater Song.” That video, directed by Spike Jonze, launched the band’s MTV career back in 1994 — and Charlene Kaye was one of its biggest fans. “Weezer was the soundtrack to… [my] awkward teenagedom, and [I’ve] always loved them and this video,” she told the AV Club.

KAYE’s sister Lianne shot the video in an unbroken take, capturing KAYE and her band performing with a high level of silliness alongside a pack of rented dogs. Watch it, read details of the shoot from both Charlene and Lianne Kaye here and watch the video below.

“Honey” is from an EP of the same name that will be available August 19. Get the song spinning in advance of the EP’s release!
