No Depression Applauds To Emmylou

“Attempting to emulate the an Americana goddess like Emmylou Harris is no mean feat,” writes the seminal alt.country magazine No Depression, “but the mostly unknown artists that contribute to To Emmylou do an especially impressive job of serving up songs associated with today’s reigning queen of country.”  In a review of the compilation, the magazine applauds its contributors for their “first rate” interpretations and specifically praises The Silver Lake Chorus, Ashleigh Flynn, and Wires in the Walls.

According to No Depression, “Each artist [on To Emmylou] offers an individual imprint that allows these songs to stand on their own. As far as tribute albums go, this one is exceptional, and quite worthy of the originals.” Read the review here.
