The News and Guide Interviews Fruit Bats’ Eric D. Johnson

In advance of Fruit Bats’ first Wyoming concert, Jackson Hole News & Guide conducted an informative interview with band mastermind Eric D. Johnson. Explaining why he recently reclaimed the Fruit Bats name after five years of releasing music simply as EDJ, Johnson said, “I realized… that Fruit Bats is my identity or how people perceive my identity, and I wasn’t able to do those solo-y things without that name… If it’s a choice between two worlds or not, to mean that I get to play guitar and sing for a living or not, then I’ll come back with my tail between my legs a little bit.” He also offered some insights about the creation of new LP Absolute Loser, and expressed his excitement to finally make it to the Yellowstone State.
