The Young Folks Compare Devendra Banhart’s New Album, Now #11 at CMJ, to a Good Friend

The Young Folks blog says that on Ape In Pink Marble, Devendra Banhart‘s new LP, the songwriter “serves up some delicately sensible lyrics provocative enough for personal, philosophical epiphanies to brew.” The songs on the album, according to the review, “can croon you to a more peaceful, rejuvenated sense of self… Ape In Pink Marble is like that one friend you have who’s always willing to lend a hand – constantly reminding you to just chill out, and have a good time already.” Read the whole review, which says the album is Banhart’s “most satisfying in a long time,” here.

Ape in Pink Marble rocketed to #11 in its second week at the CMJ Radio 200, and it’s strong enough to go even higher. Start spinning it now and help it jump into the Top Ten next week.
