Rokia Traore is Nominated for a “French Grammy”

Rokia Traoré‘s Né So was one of the most successful records we promoted to CMJ New World last year, peaking at #1 and spending 19 weeks on the chart on its way to ranking as the #5 record at New World for the whole year. The album has also been critically acclaimed, and it was just announced that it is in consideration for “Best World Album” at Les Victoires de la Musique. Presented by the French Ministry of Culture, the awards are similar to the American Grammys. Traoré won the award for Best World album in 2009, with Tchamantché – we will learn on February 10 if she’ll be adding another trophy to her mantle! See the full list of nominees here.
