Mount Eerie’s Phil Elverum Talks to Jesse Thorn

Phil Elverum, who records under the name Mount Eerie and just released the tragic, critically-acclaimed album A Crow Looked At Me, has been featured on a recent episode of Bullseye with Jesse Thorn. In the interview, Elverum talks to Thorn about experiencing the death of his wife – and mother of his child – and the role of music in processing that loss. It’s not all dire, though, as Elverum has a charming knack for embracing moments of levity and humor in conversation. Listen right here.

A Crow Looked At Me is a hauntingly beautiful album, and its aggregated Metacritic score places it in a tie with Kendrick Lamar‘s DAMN. as the best-reviewed record of the year. It’s a rewarding, thought-provoking listen, one that will make an impression on all listeners. Make sure your DJs know about it, and let us know if you need a new download.
