Overcoats Play For WFPK; Wild Honey Pie Calls Their New LP a “Gift”

Hani Elion and JJ Mitchell, also known as Overcoats, recently sat for an interview and performed spacious, haunting renditions of songs from debut LP Young in the studio of Louisville, Kentucky’s WFPK. As the station’s site says, “Their voices are a gorgeous blend of sweet and salty, perfect harmony over good beats or stripped and bare with the simple plucking of a guitar.” Enjoy their performance here.

Wild Honey Pie says Overcoats’ debut LP, Young, is a “gift… a diary they’ve shared with the world, filled to the brim with stories, lessons, and experiences that span a young lifetime. Overcoats reckon with growing up, coming-of-age, the complexities of love, and so much more. They’re vulnerable and strong, and help us understand that we all have a deep strength inside of us and a journey that’s all our own.” Read the full review here.
