The Guardian Loves Sam Amidon

“The Following Mountain is [Sam Amidon‘s] first album of largely original compositions, and it provides constant, jolting surprises,” writes the Guardian in its four-star review of the folk-inspired musician’s new LP. Describing the album’s sound, the review explains, “There’s… warm improvised piano… weirdly ambient pop shimmers and woodwind… and… tough percussive backing.” It’s “not an easy listen,” contends the site, “but a deeply rewarding one.”
