The National Student Digs The “Effortlessly Cool” Gothic Tropic

Gothic Tropic‘s Fast or Feast is “a goodie bag of experimental pop fun,” writes Britain’s The National Student in a recent review. The review contends that “light snarkiness is indeed one of Fast or Feast’s biggest strengths, and [band mastermind Cecilia Della] Peruti’s effortlessly cool image plays well to the album’s more breezy side, yet there’s a distinct sense of vulnerability lurking within the album’s innards as well… Fast or Feast is at its heart a pop record – and a strong one at that – yet it’s when they bring in other outside elements that the listening experience amps up from enjoyable to fascinating. Much like fellow Los Angeles natives Haim, the glistening soft rock influences are felt, as are the sun-kissed harmonious vocals; yet, that only begins to scratch the surface of what the group are capable of.” Read the full review here.

Fast or Feast is currently in the Top 100 at NACC, but many stations have yet to get it started. The LP is full of catchy and concise singles and perfect for summer – get it started now!
