Slant Likes The Dream Syndicate’s New LP

According to Slant Magazine, “The Dream Syndicate’s first album in 29 years, How Did I Find Myself Here?, is the best kind of nostalgia kick: It effortlessly recalls the band’s much-too-short original run while also settling into a lived-in, comfortable groove.” But while the album does recall the band’s heyday in the Eighties, Slant notes that it also features an evolution. While there are plenty of sneers and “clanging, dissonant guitars,”  the site writes that Steve Wynn’s developed vocal delivery makes songs such as “Like Mary” “sound warmer and more melodic than [they] might have back in the day.” Read the full review here.

The Dream Syndicate is a classic college radio band, so it’s no surprise that How Did I Find Myself Here? has reached a peak of #21 in just a few weeks at the NACC 200. Keep it in rotation at your station!
