AMBY Says “You’ve Got To Hear” The Barr Brothers

“You’ve got to hear this,” writes A Music Blog, Yea? of The Barr Brothers’ new LP Queens of the Breakers. While the blog criticizes the band’s previous LP Sleeping Operator for being “over-polished at times,” the site writes that on Queens of the Breakers “it would appear that the character of the group has evolved to a point where their extensive individual skills, influences and contributions have been melded into an immensely satisfying and singularly unique voice. …Everything has fallen very neatly into place stylistically and thematically and the results are thrilling and enthralling in equal measures.” Check out the review, and hear the album’s title track, here.

Queens of the Breakers was among the most-added albums at NACC last week and is aiming for debuts. The Canadian band is about to go on tour with The War on Drugs in Europe, but they’ll be back in North America for a string of dates starting November 20.
