Dude York, On Tour, Brings Holiday Spirit To Stereogum

A lot of bands do album streams these days, and Dude York is no exception. But since their new LP Halftime For The Holidays is so Very Special, the Seattle-based trio went even further than a stream by adding a visual of a festive Yule Log so listeners can get into the visual feel of the Most Wonderful Time of the Year while they bop to soaring pop-punk takes on such classics as perennial holiday favorite “Taking Care of Christmas.” Stereogum has the log stream, and about the record it has written, “It’s a mix of pumped-up originals that act as sardonic takes on classic holiday songs, and it’s a whole lot of fun. There’s some wistful sentimentality mixed in with all the jokiness, because what is Christmas for if not getting a little mushy about hanging out with friends and family and reindeer?” Watch and listen here.

Dude York is aiming for NACC debuts this week and continuing their epic North American tour. Go!
