Stereogum Premieres Sonny Smith’s Duet With Angel Olsen, “Burnin’ Up”

Earlier this year, Stereogum was kind enough to share the track “Burnin’ Up” from Sonny Smith‘s then-forthcoming LP Rod For Your Love. The track features vocals from Angel Olsen, who also appears in the video. Says Olsen, “I’ve been a fan of Sonny’s for a long time now. I was pretty busy traveling when we talked about me being in the vid for the song I sang on, but what can I say? I like the guy.” According to Smith, the song was inspired by Tracy Chapman – listen to it here and try to hear the connection!

Rod For Your Love is at radio now and looking for NACC debuts next week. Every one of its ten tight songs is deserving of airplay.
