Floated Magazine Gets Dream System 8’s Origin Story

Dream System 8 was recently profiled in Floated Magazine, which asked the duo of David Klotz and Erica Elektra all about their influences, their musical synergy, how parenthood impacts their creativity, and the Tinder date that led to the group’s genesis. While that date has been referenced in much of the duo’s mythology, this may be the first time the details have been in print. “I ordered a drink called the Smoking Jacket,” says Klotz. “So, as I was trying to be all cool… a cocktail arrived at our table with a mushroom cloud of smoke billowing from the top of the glass and it kept getting in my eyes every time I would take a sip.” Awkward!
