ELOHIM_ART_SINGLE_STTM

Elohim, the masked musician from Los Angeles whose identity is still unknown, has unveiled the second side of her debut 12″ single, entitled “Xanax.”

The song is the flipside of “She Talks Too Much,” which earned accolades from Stereogum, Jezebel, the Fader, and the hundreds of thousands who streamed the track on SoundCloud. Whereas that song was bouncy, lush, punchy and dance-oriented, “Xanax” shows a more atmospheric, airy side of Elohim. While her audience continues to ponder the mysterious artist’s identity, they now have proof that her talent exceeds the success of her first single “She Talks Too Much.”

These delicious bits of electro-pop will be released soon on a 12″ single from B3SC

“The LA-based electro-pop artist Elohim just dropped a new song to accompany “She Talks Too Much,” the massive track we heard back in May that served as our introduction to the singer. “Xanax” is much more hushed, a delicately plodding series of contemplations that mirror some of the effects of its name. If “She Talks Too Much” is the party’s catchy, inaugural DJ pick, then “Xanax” would be an end of the night wind-down.”
Stereogum

“It’s a little earworm, all lush, lazy candy, and the chorus melts through a couple of tight burns about that person you know who’ll corner you at a party and tell you everything about a series of imagined haters.”
– Jezebel

“Elohim carries a sound of her own. …[The song]’s buoyant but penetrating refrain inches its way into every nook and cranny of the pop driven melody, resulting in an admirable introduction to the world.”
– The Music Ninja
