All Became Golden, the new audio-visual record from British singer-songwriter Essie Jain, delivers an innovative project that serves as a triumphant return for Jain. All Became Golden was directed by Natalie Johns, arranged by Nico Muhly (Björk, The National, Grizzly BearAntony and the Johnsons, Sam Amidon) and was created in the span of two days at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music. The album includes renowned musicians who collaborated together to create this moving album. No one has ever made a record like this and in this way — recording the entirety of the album in front of the camera allows the viewer and listener to understand the raw talent that is overflowing throughout the record. The project was a collaboration between Jain, Muhly, and Johns and the result is innovative, modern, and honest. Muhly explains that the bravery required to film in front of the camera was essential to display that “there’s no trick to making music like that happen.”

With such raw talent touching every part of this album, All Became Golden will undoubtedly touch the hearts of every person who listens. Jain says “it was probably the best experience of my life to date. If I were to close the doors on everything tomorrow, I would feel like I’d done what I was supposed to do. I feel pretty complete about it.” The passion felt from every member that contributed to this album emanates throughout the entirety of it, take in the glow of All Became Golden.
