A new album featuring works by Krzysztof Penderecki and Radiohead‘s Jonny Greenwood is now available. The album features two pieces from Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki, which were created in the early 60’s including, Threnody for the victims of Hiroshima and Polymorphia. Inspired from the early recordings from Penderecki, Greenwood created 48 Responses to Polymorphia and Popcorn Superhet Receiver, which are also featured on the album. (Greenwood incorporated material from Popcorn Superhet Receiver in his award-winning score for the 2008 film There Will Be Blood, which was also released on Nonesuch.) The album was recorded in Krakow’s Alvernia Studios after a concert at the European Congress of Culture, in Wroclaw.
