Lianne La Havas is a London based artist who is starting to garner a lot of attention. Her Jamaican-Greek upbringing is as unique as her sound — taking the alternative soul ofIndia.Arie and Corinne Bailey Rae and enhancing it with the smoky indie-folk pop ofFeist. Last year, Lianne was tapped by BBC‘s Later…with Jools Holland to perform her song“Age” where she won over an artist who was also performing on the show, Bon Iver. “As soon as we saw her play it was so refreshing; somebody who could play their instrument, somebody who could use their voice, but in their own way. She is just fantastic,” said Justin Vernon who then invited Lianne to open for him on a set of midwest-US dates.
