Screening Opportunity: Jane’s Addiction, Live at Voodoo

Posted on Aug 9, 2010

AmApAc is excited to offer you the first chance to screen the mesmerizing reunion show of the classic Jane’s Addiction line-up, filmed live on Halloween night 2009 at Voodoo Experience in New Orleans. Perry Farrell (vocals), Stephen Perkins (drums), Eric Avery (bass) and Dave Navarro (guitar) perform a spectacular set, predominantly from their first two albums (which both featured this line-up).

We suggest screening the film in an outdoor setting, with a cold beverage in hand to get the full experience of being at the show. While the twin girl dancers and Perry’s onstage theatrics are reason enough to keep your eyes on the screen, don’t forget to crank up the volume because this film is really about the music. Check out this clip from the DVD of the band playing their hit “Been Caught Stealing” from the album Ritual de lo Habitual to see what we mean.

Full Track Listing
1) Up The Beach 2) Mountain Song 3) Ain’t No Right 4) Three Days 5) Whores 6) Then She Did… 7) Been Caught Stealing 8) Ocean Size 9) Ted, Just Admit It 10) Summertime Rolls 11) Stop! 12) Jane Says 13) Chip Away

To set this up you need to find a projector or TV for the screening as I will just be providing you with a copy of the DVD. All screenings should be free and take place between September 1st and October 31st. (There will be no early sneak peeks, but if you want to hold an event later than October 31st, we can work that out). Screenings could take place at a campus or community theatre, outside, in a classroom, or anywhere you think it could work. It could be a station event or you could work with your school’s activity board. May we suggest a Halloween screening with a costume contest? Get creative and have fun with it.

Please get in touch if you’re interested in hosting a screening of Jane’s Addiction Live Voodoo.
