New Music From Strange Markings

Posted on Jun 2, 2011

This is the first of great things to come from Strange Markings! Lightly Asleep came to life when Tim Rush sought refuge from Los Angeles in the Mojave Desert in the tiny town of Pioneertown. By stark geographical and topical contrast the album was further developed and recorded in Chicago. The music seeps into your ears like the desert winds but catches your attention like a Chicago frost! Veteran songwriter and music producer Linda Perry became aware of Rush’s songs, saw the potential and became a fundamental catalyst in geting this band off the ground. Perry introduced Rush to drummer Kellii Scott (Veruca Salt) and this partnerhip instantly became the backbone of Strange Markings . Unique and relaxing while maintaining a light hearted fun vibe, the album contains a cinematic feel which comes from Rush’s background as a fim editor on films like Dig! To listen to the album, download it now!
