Going For Adds: Strange Markings

Posted on Jun 6, 2011

Last week we serviced Strange Markings‘ debut record Lightly Asleep. The album was developed in California’s Mojave Desert and recorded in Chicago with the help of veteran songwriter/producer Linda Perry, who became a fundamental catalyst in geting the band off the ground. Strange Markings is led by writter/vocalist/multi intstrumentalist Tim Rush who, after seeing fellow alumnus Sam Beam (Iron & Wine) gain success, became motivated to pursue his musical ideas. Lightly Asleep is a 5-track EP that offers interludes of 70s children’s radio shows in between tracks to set the tone of the track that follows. On June 21st, Strange Markings will be celebrating the release of their debut EP at Los Angeles’ Silverlake Lounge. Be sure to listen to Lightly Asleep as it goes for adds today and tomorrow, June 6 & 7.
