Going For Adds: Cheikh Lô

Posted on Jun 20, 2011

This week, we have Senegalese artist Cheikh Lô going for adds with his latest album Jamm. The record is centered around simple demos recorded on Garageband at the house of bassist/friend, Thierno Sarr. Further arrangements were added by old friends and drummer Tony Allen (Fela KutiThe Good, the Bad and the Queen) and saxophonist Pee Wee Ellis (James Brown, Van Morrison). On his last record, NPR called Cheikh Lô “one of the most dynamic creators of today’s African music.” Be sure to make this record a top add this week!
