Going for adds this week we have new releases from The Jigsaw Seen Brite FuturesBrite Futures‘ (ex-Natalie Portman’s Shaved HeadDark Past is, as they put it, “punk rock Abba disco Osmonds with chainsaws.” The group first known for songs like “Sideways Ponytail” continues to write infectious indie pop but has more to say since their last release. The name of their album refers to the difficulty the band experienced working with their now ex-label. After touring with bands like Matt & Kim, CSS & The Go! Team, the band took a break to regroup but is ready to share their indie debut as it goes for adds today and tomorrow. This is the perfect party record for your station.

The Jigsaw Seen released their debut EP, My Name Is Tom, 20 years ago. The self-titled track was included in the revered compilation Children of Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the Second Psychedelic Era, 1976–1995. With their newest release, Winterland, the group take the psychedelic-pop found in groups like Love & The Zombies and inject the songwriting of The Kinks or Guided By Voices. The new album is a winter-themed song cycle showcasing the group’s eclectic take on the seasonal concept.
