The Jigsaw Seen & Yael Meyer Looking For Spins & Chart Debuts

Posted on Nov 28, 2011

Now that we’re well rested from the Thanksgiving weekend, we’re excited to see some spins and chart debuts for The Jigsaw Seen‘s Winterland & Yael Meyer’s Everything Will Be Alright. Winterland is the ideal record to kick off the winter season. The record’s sound harkens back to the nostalgic pop-psychedelia of LoveThe Zombies, and the trove of bands found on the heralded Nuggets compilations but with a nod to college rock pioneers R.E.M.Magnet Magazine recently premiered the video for single “Snow Angels of Pigtown,” watch it here.

Yael Meyer is “sweet but not sappy,” says Spin Magazine, “the cozy English-language pop on her second album embodies artful simplicity, offering refuge from modern anxiety in late-night tracks like ‘Shed Their Fear’ and ‘Home to Me.’ Tracks like “Used To Be” even hint at a twee sound that’s more a kin to Camera Obscura than the Jose Gonzalez & Feist sound felt throughout the album. She’s recently been tapped to perform at Lollapalooza Chile 2012 alongsideBjork, TV on the Radio, MGMT, Band of Horses, and many more. Before that, she’ll be playing shows throughout California and is available for phone interviews – please contact us if you’d like to set one up.
