New Music from Gaz Coombes

Posted on Apr 12, 2012

Gaz Coombes, the former front man of the band Supergrass, has returned to release his debut album Here Come the Bombs. The album brings a relatively new sound for Coombes, who was largely influenced by film and film soundtracks on these recordings. Tracks like “Hot Fruit” channelRadiohead’s Hail to the Thief while “Sub Divider” & “White Noise” could be anOK Computer b-side. “Fanfare” & “Break the Silence” has the light-hearted electronic feel of a Hot Chip song and closing track “Sleeping Giant“ resolves the record on a dreamy note that mirrors French duo AIR.

Recommended Tracks: 2, 6, 4, 8, 7, 11
FCC WARNING: Track #3 “Whore”
Label: Hot Fruit
Going for adds 4/16 & 4/17
