Gaz Coombes has just premiered the video for “Simulator”, the new single from Here Come The Bombs. The video was shot in an old movie theater in Oxford and featured fans as extras wearing silver masks in a theater watching a film of Gaz and a group of completely silver dancers. The masked theatergoers watch and tap their feet in unison, in this dystopian video. You can watch the video here.

The record is both ethereal and grounded, evoking a deep sense of introspection and blending narrative lyrics with one-take lead vocal performances, cinematic arrangements, rich soundscapes, and lush orchestration. Vollebekk – who self-produced and plays piano, guitar, bass, B3 organ, harmonica, accordion and Moog synthesizer – compiled an impressive supporting cast including drummer Jim Keltner, steel guitarist Cindy Cashdollar (Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Rod Stewart), and bassist Shahzad Ismaily. The album was mixed by Tchad Blake (Tom Waits, Arctic Monkeys, Tracy Chapman) and mastered by Greg Calbi.
